You Have an Anchor, Use It!

Are you feeling pulled in many different directions, like you should believe this, go here, do that — and the input is more than your mind and heart can handle? Do you feel like you’re being swept away on waves you can’t control?

Do you ever wonder where God is
in your situation?”
Wonder if or when He’s going to step in
and take care of things?
Wonder when He’s going to
answer your prayers?

Sometimes we feel lost, like a ship afloat in deep waters, tossed this way and that. One blow after another wrecks our hearts and minds, and we just need a break.

We often say “God won’t give me more than I can handle,” but in truth, that’s not in the scripture at all. What IS in the scripture is that God is WITH us in every circumstance—good and bad. He never leaves us alone to figure things out. He has promised.

Our hope in God is the anchor of our soul. This anchor cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears on it.

This hope even carries us into the deepest recesses of God’s presence. We’re not on the outside looking in, hoping to catch a glimpse of Him. We are inside the holy of holies, hearing His voice, seeing His face, experiencing His character. This confident hope is strength to stand on and peace to rest in.

Set your trust in your Anchor today, Believer. Rest in the confident hope that His promises are true and that His love for you never diminishes.

Focus on this as we enter the Christmas season. No rushing. No pressure. No stress. Simple love and confident hope.

Jesus.
