You didn’t do it!

Faith. Belief.

Whatever we call it, it’s impossible to please God without it and our salvation from sin requires it.

I don’t know if perhaps the Apostle Paul has gotten word that the believers at Ephesus were taking credit for their salvation, but he addresses the point anyway.

We don’t do anything
for our salvation
except to believe.

God set up the plan.
Jesus came to earth.
Jesus died & rose again.
Holy Spirit says “come!”

All we do is believe it’s all true, all for us, and accept God’s perfect gift.

And the next words? Salvation isn’t a reward for the things we’ve done. It’s not based on doing 150 or 150,000 good deeds – it’s not even based on doing one.

No. Our salvation is based entirely on God and His magnificent love for each of us.

If you don’t have a salvation relationship with God, all it requires is faith. It seems hard, because our human brains don’t understand it. We have to suspend logic to understand grace. We have to relinquish control to walk in freedom. We have to surrender to a Sovereign we can’t see.

By faith.

Trusting in what we know/believe as though it’s already a done deal.

And those who already believe? We should revisit that salvation moment for ourselves. Not the place and time, but what we believe. It becomes easy to think we have the faith unto salvation when we really have faith of our salvation experience – the time and place.

Let’s take a few minutes today to consider where our faith lives, and if necessary, make the changes to move into or renew a relationship with God. He’s ready.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
