When it’s all falling apart…LOOK UP!

The heavens declare the glory of God. Whether it’s brilliant thunderheads glistening in bright sunlight or dark, roiling storm clouds, we see His glory, His creativeness. It may be beautiful sunrises that gently ease light into the sky before suddenly bursting into day or amazing, colorful sunsets that elicit involuntary oohs and ahhs.

Whatever we see up there, the Milky Way, the Northern Lights, the stars, the moon, the blues, grays, reds, and oranges, God is glorified. Even if we miss it. Even if we don’t admit it. Even if we try to disagree. Even if.

Some say God doesn’t exist, that the things we see in the sky are only prisms of water reflecting light. How creative of God to place those prisms in just the right place at just the right time to catch that perfect light to bend and refract to paint glorious pictures!

God doesn’t require our faith to exist. He exists. He is. That’s it. Kinda like gravity. Whether we believe in it or not, when we fall, our fannies are headed toward the ground, not the sky.

When we’re feeling low, like the world is closing in, like the culture is so distracting we can’t keep our heads, when our hearts ache because of choices made — ours and others, look up. Look at the sky and see how magnificent and marvelous our God is. Recognize His handiwork in every cloud, every ray of sunshine, every star. Notice how all of it holds together, not tossed in chaos. Glorify Almighty God who spoke all of this into existence. Whisper praise to Him or shout it aloud, but let your heart sing for the chance to observe the touch of the Creator, there for the earth to see.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
