Why are you here?
Not on social media, on Earth.
Why are you here? What’s your purpose? Why were you created?
Paul understood his reason for living. It was to share the Good News of Jesus with non-Jewish people at every opportunity, helping them grow into a mature faith in the Christ.
Mind you, he previously thought his purpose was to study the Torah religiously and destroy anything and anyone that went against the teachings of the Pharisees, but Jesus showed up to change his mind and get him on the right path.
Once Paul knew what his true purpose was, he set off on it with passion. Nothing deterred him, not even prison. He saw every moment of every day as an opportunity to fulfill that purpose — telling people of God’s gift of salvation to Jew and Gentile alike.
So, I ask again: Why are you here? Have you determined your purpose? Can you say to a trusted friend, “You certainly know what my purpose in life is”?
You were created with a
distinctive reason,
a special purpose, a definite WHY for your life.
God planned you and designed you
for a unique purpose that only you can fulfill.
He has placed you where you are
at the time you are
with the talents and experiences you have
in order to accomplish that purpose.
Because Paul understood his purpose, he was able to go after it full force despite persecution, torture, rejection, slander, and imprisonment.
Even as he was chained between guards, Paul told of Jesus’ sacrifice for their sins.
So, again, why are you here? It’s time each of us who are believers figure that out so we can get busy doing what we were designed and made for.
