We want change in our lives, but we don’t want TO change.

We want change in our lives, but we don’t want TO change.

We want to lose weight, but we’re not willing to change our eating habits. We want to save money, but we’re not willing to budget and change our spending habits. We want to have a more organized, orderly life, but we’re not willing to pick up, put up, or change our drop-and-go lifestyle habits.

Been there.

The thing is, we will never experience the change we want to see in ourselves unless we allow transformation to happen.
We must be willing to take the steps out of where we are to move toward where we want to be.

And it all begins IN OUR MINDS.

We want to see the change.
We long to see the change.
We need the change.
We decide to change.
We take the steps to change.
We change.

I mentioned this process in a post yesterday about where I am in my personal exercise program. During the summer, Jack and I were on the walking trail near our home at 6 am, walking 3.3 miles and back home just over an hour later. Then the days grew shorter, it was pitch dark at 6 am, and the weather turned colder.

I have not been walking.

Why is that important? I have heart issues. Walking is necessary for my heart health. On top of that, I have osteopenia. That means I need to do weight-bearing exercise, and walking is perfect for that.

But for weeks,
I’ve brushed off this workout
because it’s too dark or it’s too cold.

I want to see this change. I want to see me back out there, feeling the fresh air in my lungs, watching the world go by.

I long for this change. I wish that it was different. I need the change. My body and my heart need me out there walking.

I have decided to come up with a plan that I can execute in order to see this change happen. I will transform by changing my mindset about the weather and light.

Paul understood this concept, and said we’re to change from being like the world/culture around us, and the only way to do that is by having God transform and change the way we think.

If we want to live in ways that are pleasing to God, then we have to decide to make the changes necessary to our lives, and that all begins between our ears.

We have to SURRENDER our thoughts, our ideas, and our ways of thinking and planning to the Almighty and allow Him to replace our old thoughts and ways with His.

We must LET GO and put God on the throne of our lives. Every. Single. Day.

Today is a great day to start your transformation. It’s time to step off the throne of your life and allow God full reign over you—your thinking, your planning, your words, your actions.

You’re ready. Let’s do this!
