Don’t give up! Your harvest is coming.

Who else is tired of the seeming uphill battle to be the light on a hill and the salt of the earth? It’s rough going sometimes and becomes so easy to lose heart. We ask ourselves what difference we are making and find it reasonable to just lay it all down and collapse where we are.

Oh, Believer, I hear you. I understand. I’ve been there. First, allow me to encourage you. Even if you don’t see the difference your light is making, it’s there. God sees it and people are experiencing it. That salt you introduce into every conversation, every situation, is making a difference, even if it’s not visible with a bolt of lightning.

The Amplified version of the Bible says this verse: “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.”

Acting nobly and doing right can get very tiring when we are doing it in our own power. We get to the point where we throw up our hands and declare that it makes no difference if I do it that way or not, I’m just going to be like everyone else and fill-in-the-blank.

The answer is to always, always allow the Holy Spirit who lives in you to lead you, to give you strength, to provide you words, to instruct you and correct you at every turn. With this choice, we are not depending on our power and strength to carry through, we’re depending on God whose power and strength are without limit. This is how we don’t lose heart and grow weary.

Living in His power means we still see the world and all the stressors and fearful things, but we don’t panic or shrink in dismay. Instead, we are already leaning on Him and our faith is bolstered to know that He is acting in these things, even when we don’t see it with our physical eyes.

Keep acting nobly and doing right, my friend. Do the good God has called you to. Don’t loosen or relax your courage and faint! When it’s time, you will reap a harvest for the Kingdom of God that you never saw coming, and it will be wonderful!
