No More Death

DEATH DESTROYED FOREVER!

If there were to be news headlines on that Day of the Lord, this could be one of them. Won’t that be an amazing thing? Oh glorious day!

At that time, when Jesus returns to rule and reign over the entire earth, so much will be different. In the instant of His return, everyone will know whether what they believed about Him is true or not. Those who have rejected Him will know without doubt, and every believer will know.

Our faith will become sight. In other words, all we’ve believed in faith – trusting what we can’t see – will be seen. I’m pretty sure many folks will be surprised to see the Jewish Savior without the long blonde hair and blue eyes, but I digress.

In that day, God will destroy death forever. Jesus destroyed eternal death on the cross, removing the curse of sin from all who will believe. On that great and fearful Day of the Lord, however, God will annihilate Death forever. On a sorrowful note, there are those who will meet Death that day – the way I understand scripture, those who have rejected God and chosen themselves or other gods in His place will exit this life and their residence will permanently change.

But on that new earth, there will be no disease. There will be no pain. There will be no wasting away. There will be NO death. None.

And do you see? God Himself will wipe away every tear. Every. Tear. All the weeping will be over. All the ridicule because of our identity with God will be done. No more. All the shame heaped on believers will be abolished and removed. We in the West don’t see this a lot, but imagine what that means to our Christian siblings in places where it’s forbidden to even mention the name of God. Oh glorious day!

Today, if you’re reading this and you don’t have a relationship with God through the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary; if you’ve never confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed to your core that God raised Him from the dead, I urge you – I beg you – to make that choice now. This instant. Don’t put it off, because we have zero idea when this Day of the Lord will come. Putting it off could catch you in the crowd of the rejectors of God and I really don’t want that for you.
