You’re not that strong.

Oh my goodness, how we hate to appear weak! We want everyone to believe we’re strong and capable of handling everything that comes our way—even when we’re falling apart inside.

May I let you in on a secret? You are not. You will not be. You can’t be. Strong in every circumstance, I mean. You are human. You cannot and will not be God.

Life will wash over you like high tide over a causeway. Sometimes it comes easy, gently lapping over your defenses until it rises above your head to consume you.

Other times it crashes down on you like a meteorite, slamming you into a deep hole caused by the crash.

You can’t be strong when you’re drowning or crushed. It’s silly to think you can be. Yet we put that responsibility on ourselves and others. We expect to hold our heads high and walk through the water or dig ourselves out of the pit with nary any angst, and certainly no help.

My friend, God knows the limitations of your strength, even if you don’t. He is there to support you, guide you, and give you HIS strength when yours runs short. You have only to let go of your illusion of control in order to accept His true control.

Let yourself off the hook, Believer. Retreat to being the frail human you are so you can live in God’s strength. Avail yourself of it repeatedly. He’s offering it to you!

In God’s power and strength, you CAN walk out of impossible situations with your head head high and your steps sure. You CAN face insurmountable circumstances with grace and strength.

Your choice today, my friend. Will you choose to continue to try your flawed and failing premise that you can handle it—whatever “it” is or will you let go and fall into God’s strong arms, allowing Him to imbue you with His power and strength to live and walk confidently through all of life’s circumstances?

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
