You need to prove you really know God

Believers, we are supposed to love one another. Even the people at that church. Even the ones who worship differently than us. Even the ones who look different than us. All of us who believe in Jesus as the Way, Truth, and Life are part of ONE ANOTHER – regardless of denomination.

And this isn’t just John saying so. He recorded Jesus’ words in his gospel, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

That’s a pretty clear directive and a real motivator. We shouldn’t have to wear a label that says, “Hello, I am a Christian.” Our love for other followers of Jesus will prove it. Imagine how different this world would be if Catholics and Protestants and Orthodox stopped denigrating one another and loved one another instead! What if the factions of the Protestant faith focused on the fact that we all love and follow Jesus and stopped pointing fingers and saying “they’re doing it wrong!”

Don’t we believe that the Spirit of God is able to correct those who are wrong? Do we trust Him to do just that? Do we realize we are not Him?

It’s high time we started loving one another so that the world sees the difference. As it stands now, we in the faith world are making it easy for those who don’t know Christ to take the wide path to destruction. Shame on us.

Believer, don’t wait for your pastor or faith leader to approve this for you. Your Savior already has. It’s time we started obeying what HE said.
