Unprecedented

We keep hearing that we are living in unprecdented times. I don’t think that’s true. I think that all throughout time there have been years, months, generations filled with deceit, sickness, death, unrest, imprisonment, and fear.

What we are seeing is unprecedented in OUR lifetimes. WE have never experienced these things before. Except, those who are over 75 most certainly have.

Solomon was the wisest man ever because God filled him with that wisdom. One of the things he repeated was that there is nothing new under the sun. Nothing. Everything that has been will be again, simply because humans act like humans.

These times can be scary. Grievous. Disappointing. Disheartening. They can even cause our faith to waver, especially when we place that faith in someone or something other than the Almighty. OR when we place it in God plus something/someone else.

God alone is our refuge and strength. He alone is the One who can help in our times of trouble.

Sometimes we find ourselves in untenable situations and expect people to assist us, to be the comfort and help we need, and those people invariably fail us. They are unable to meet our needs or choose not to do so. They don’t even notice we’re in trouble!

God knows you and your situation. God sees you and loves you. He is your refuge and your strength, but He will not force Himself into your situation. He is waiting for you to ditch the other gods (self, humans, institutions) and turn to Him.

When you’re ready, He is there.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
