Jesus knew what was coming for Himself and His followers. It wasn’t going to be easy, so He tried to prepare them and this is a great message for us to receive today.
Believing in God was relatively easy. The Jews had seen God interact with them as a people for thousands of years. He had come through for them so many times! Then stood this man before them saying He was the Messiah, the One sent by God, the Savior of the world. They could see Him, touch Him, talk with Him, but trust Him like they did God? That was a huge ask.
Jesus once again declared his place in the Godhead, that He and God are one and that His followers could trust Him just as they trusted God.
They adhered to, relied on, and trusted in God, and Jesus invited them to adhere to, rely on, and trust Him equally. He told them to NOT let their hearts be distressed or agitated.
If we’re not distressed, we’re happy. Truly content and happy.
If we’re not agitated, we are calm and relaxed.
Here’s His invitation to you all these years later, Believer. Trust Him to be Who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do. Adhere to His teachings, follow His will, learn your purpose, rely on Him, trust Him and experience the peace and joy and love that only He can give.
Coffee, Bible, Journal.
