My cousin is a full-time farmer, providing corn, rice, and cotton for consumers. He has seen some lean harvests, and some that are overwhelming. The advent of lights on tractors made it possible to work the harvest all night long when necessary.
Still, he needs trustworthy people to run the equipment to bring in the harvest given by God. Just because I know how to drive a car doesn’t mean I know how to operate the harvesting equipment. With a bit of training, however, I could.
God’s harvest is similar. The number of people coming to know the Lord is incredible! There has been significant planting and watering and now, the fruit of that is being seen.
We need trustworthy harvesters, though. We need those who are skilled to gather in this overwhelming crop given by God.
The Amplified Version translation says, “So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest.”
We may not know how to bring in this harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God, but with a bit of training, we will.

It’s time to learn and learn fast,
because the time to do so is shortened every day.
We’re to make disciples, Believer. That’s the harvest: People ready to turn from worshiping self and sin and all that is anti-God to worshiping the One True God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Let’s learn from God how to do that—there isn’t a formula. Seek God. He’s got you. Then, let’s get to work, building up the population of the Kingdom of God. No better day than today. It’s time.
