It’s counterintuitive. It doesn’t make sense. The ones with true power serve no one, but are served, right?
Not according to Jesus. In His kingdom, everything we know is turned upside down. The powerful are weak. The weak are powerful. Not in the way that the weak take over through revolution, though. It’s just the way it is.
Many companies are learning that the best way to grow is to lead by serving. From the top down, service to others is the hallmark of who they are. They give much and truly help people, and by doing that, the company grows.
Those who lead with the closed fist do so from a mindset of scarcity. They live out the belief that there is a minuscule amount of abundance to be had and they have to grab all they can before someone else gets it all.
Believers must understand that because of Christ, we are able to live from a mindset of abundance. We can live out the belief that there is an infinite amount of abundance delivered by the Savior to all who are His. When we operate with that mindset, every molecule of our lives is used to serve others because we don’t have to keep all we get. We can share. We can help. We can assist.
As we serve others, we can trust that the One who supplies the abundant life to us sees and smiles.
Where are you living right now, Believer? In scarcity or abundance? Let today be the day you shift into the gear of service to others and live as Jesus did, the ultimate servant leader.
