God had just told David that He would bless His descendants forever, and David’s response is one of heartfelt praise.

He recounts the amazing things God had done in his life and makes a declaration, “How great you are, O Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!”

This is the same God who rescued us from eternal death. He has promised life to each of us who have believed in His free gift of salvation. He promised that His Spirit would dwell in us to correct us and guide us.

God’s promises are always true, even when we don’t see their fulfillment. He gives us the faith to walk in them when we feel like quitting.

How about you today? Do you feel like God doesn’t even know you exist? Do you feel like those promises you read don’t really apply to you, that somehow you’re not part of those to whom He made them – or that you’ve messed up so much He is leaving you out?

Oh, beloved! He knows you exist – He made you! Listen closely, hear Him singing over you as a mother sings over her newborn. Just like the baby learning to walk, trust in the arms of the Heavenly Father reaching out to you. Believe Him. Receive His Truth (John 14:6) and walk securely, knowing that He IS with you, He IS for you, He HAS given you eternal LIFE and HAS rescued you from the path your choices had you on.

Then join David in his declaration that there is no other god like our God. Nowhere close. Rest in that, Believer.
