Stop Making It So Hard to Know God!

Why is faith so complicated? Why is it so hard to get to know God?

In truth, it’s not.

When Apostle Paul wrote to the believers at Corinth, he was addressing those who claimed he and his fellow missionaries didn’t really have any authority to say anything to correct them. Apparently, there were those in the community who were rebellious against leadership.

Paul talked about how false teachings can come up and sully the thinking of those who want to follow Jesus and that the normal means of battle would not defeat those.

We face the same today. The enemy of our souls doesn’t want people to know that salvation is free, a gift of gigantic proportions, available with the simplest act of surrendered acceptance. He doesn’t want people to understand that following Jesus is as simple as surrendering our will each day.

This common enemy whispers that it’s too hard, this letting go of what we want. He insists that it’s demeaning with ridiculous hoops to jump through — and to be honest, some in the community of faith have bought into that lie, making it a chore to find the beginning of the faith path, much less start the journey.

It’s time that we who are believers understand that the enemy is working hard to prevent people from knowing about God and from knowing God.

It’s time we choose to do what it takes to understand those arguments and stand against them with answers of truth and faith to fight the rebellion that says salvation is anything other than openly declaring that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10)

To battle the lies stacked up as truth, we have to know the real Truth. To know the truth we have to study and seek the Truth-giver in the Word He has provided us. Then, when we encounter the lies, we have to do something about them. We must apply Truth to those lies to help others move past the obstacles to faith that the enemy builds.

Let’s get to work tearing down the walls of misunderstanding that are keeping people from knowing God today!
