How many times have you heard or read this scripture, “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” in the context of going to church? 🙋🏻♀️

When we read it in the Complete Jewish Bible, though, it’s easier to understand how faith = trust and hearing = a word proclaimed about Jesus.
True, we mostly hear proclaimed words from preachers, but I think we who are believers often allow this verse to absolve us of being the proclaimers. It doesn’t.
Every single one of us who claim to be Christians are to be proclaimers of words about Jesus the Messiah. It is through our sharing about what He has done in us and for us that others come to trust Him and believe in Him and accept His free gift of salvation.
It doesn’t require a seminary education to be able to say that I used to be scared of thunder and lightning, but when I decided to follow Jesus, they don’t bother me anymore.
It doesn’t require months of training to be able to tell someone the story of how God answered prayers to allow your husband to survive and thrive beyond a 95% fatal aneurysm.
Great study is not necessitated in order to tell of the peace you have in the midst of the storm you’re walking or the unexplainable joy you have at times that seem joyless.
Every aspect of our lives can become a word about Jesus the Messiah—the Savior. And how amazing to think that when we allow those stories, those words, to become natural in our lives, we are helping others trust in Him because they see and hear that we do!
Let’s start intentionally speaking those words about Jesus today!
