How to have indescribable peace now

Peace. Oh, how we long for peace! We want our world to be free of drama and turmoil. We want our homes to be free of argument and stress.

Mostly, we want our minds to be safe from all the peace-stealers out there.

Trouble is, we never seem to find that peace in any form.

Peace isn’t trying to elude you, but it IS hidden. It is hidden within your relationship with Jesus Christ, if you have one.

Paul gives the “formula” for peace in his letter to the believers at Philippi. Simply tell God all. Everything. All the good, thanking Him for every molecule of it. All the problems, fears, fights, anxieties. All your needs, from huge to minuscule. Once you’ve informed Him about the issues, let them go. Stop worrying about how they will be satisfied or rectified. Get on with life and love and family, knowing that God is handling whatever that thing was.

One of the best definitions of worry I’ve heard is:

Worry is praying for what you
don’t want to happen.

OUCH!

Let’s start today. Let’s tell God all our needs. Let’s commit to turn to Him every time a worry comes to mind, giving every what-if to Him and changing it to “what if the best possible thing happens?” Let’s stop staring at the circumstance and gaze at the One who has control of it. And let’s thank God for everything. E V E R Y T H I N G.

Consider making a list that you can look at later in the day for three things you’re grateful for until you get in the habit.

Experience peace that is even more than you’ve longed for, you’ve dreamed of, you’ve imagined. It’s available right now. Reach for it.
