Separated from God ≠ Separated from His Love

What assurance, to know that there is absolutely nothing that can separate you from the LOVE of GOD! There’s no word big enough. No act big enough. No enemy big enough. No YOU big enough. NOTHING is big enough or powerful enough to come between you and God’s love.

He loved you before He created you, Believer, and He loves you enough to die for you. He leans in to hear your voice and He sings over you. He loves you so much!

This verse is often used to teach a false narrative, though. It’s true! The enemy likes to use scripture to lead us the wrong way. He tried it with Jesus, He tries it with us.

See, these words written by Paul tell us that nothing in heaven or on earth can separate us from God’s LOVE.

The prophet Isaiah spoke to Israel telling them that it was their sins that cut them off from God—that God had turned away and would not listen to their cries any longer.

Some will tell us that this is Old Testament and has no bearing on us today. I will say that Truth is Truth, no matter which part of the Book it’s written in.

Throughout the scripture we see that God will not entertain sin in His presence. That doesn’t change because of Jesus. We are washed clean of sin by His blood, but when we continue to sin, we choose to remove ourselves from God’s presence, though we cannot remove ourselves from His love for us.

There is a difference between being separated from God and being separated from His love.

The enemy wants us to live defeated, unfruitful lives, my friend. He does not want the Kingdom of God to grow and mature. That’s why he twists scripture like these.

Being separated from God’s presence because we refuse to confess and repent of sin keeps us loved by God beyond description, yet crippled and fruitless because of the disconnect.

We must live by the full counsel of His Word. We don’t get to pick and choose. God says He loves us regardless. He also says He will turn away from us when we choose sin over Him.

It’s a great day to examine where we stand. If there is sin keeping us from God’s presence, let’s agree with Him that it is wrong and turn away from it so we can re-enter His presence and live life completely fulfilled as children of the Most High.

It’s also a great day to rejoice in the truth that nothing at all can ever separate us from the love of God revealed in Christ Jesus.
