Praise Him till east becomes west.

Everywhere, from east to west, praise the name of the Lord, Psalms 113:3 tells us.

God has removed the sins of those who surrender to Him as far as east is from west, we read in Psalms 103:12.

Have you ever wondered why this “east to west” phrase is used for these?

I’m no theologian, but my simple mind conceives that if we go north far enough we get to a starting point where we begin to go south. If we go south enough, we begin to go north.

In other words, there’s an end.

When we go east, there’s no point where we begin going west unless we turn around. And if we keep going west, we don’t begin going east unless we turn around.

In other words, there is no end.

God says that His name is to be praised without end. There’s no stopping point. No reaching the place where the praise should cease.

He also lets us know that that’s how far from us He has removed our sins and transgressions. We won’t be able to find them because they are as far removed as east from west. There’s no place where one becomes the other.

If we put these two thoughts together, of course His praise would ring out everywhere! If we fully grasped what He has done to remove the greatest obstacle to our abundant eternal life, we would never stop praising Him! And no, I’m not saying that we wouldn’t be saying anything else because we’d be praising God, I’m saying our HEARTS would be in a constant position of praise.

Let’s join our hearts and voices today in praise to the One who created east and west and everything in between. Let’s worship the One who rescued us from the penalty of our sin and fights for us every battle that would take us back to its captivity.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
