We’re living in a time when human knowledge is doubling every 24 hours. Double. In a day. That increase used to take a thousand years. That’s crazy! Exciting AND overwhelming.

Knowledge is neither good nor evil. It is, however, used for both.

There is one way to be certain that we use knowledge well, and that is to receive truth as knowledge, and that begins in one specific place: the fear of the Lord.

When we worship Him and regard Him as truly awesome – the One who invokes overwhelming awe in us – our journey into knowledge starts. It’s like walking through an open door onto a path of unending exploration and infinite truth.

There are those who think they know all they need to know and reject godly wisdom, instruction, and self-discipline. The Book calls those folks arrogant fools. That’s pretty strong language!

Every moment of every day we have a choice. We get to choose to begin the path of knowledge or to be arrogant fools. One achieves the best in our lives, the other… not so much.

If you’re looking for truth, for wisdom, for understanding of what you see and hear, it’s time to worship Almighty God and regard Him openly as truly awesome.

Let’s do this today, let’s open our hearts to see the awesome God, high and lifted up. Let’s declare Jesus to be King of all kings, Lord of all lords, and the Sovereign over us, then tune in to, listen to, and walk in the wisdom, instruction, and self-discipline revealed to us as the beginning of knowledge.
