God’s love endures everything

As we are well under way on this Thanksgiving Day, let’s take a brief respite and talk about Jesus; is that okay?

The scripture tells us in both testaments to give thanks to God. Sometimes for His provision, sometimes simply because He is so good.

When we thank God because He is good we begin to focus less on ourselves and our imperfections. We’ll be less inclined to freak out if the turkey doesn’t slice right. We won’t worry that we left our apron in in the pictures. Our hearts and souls will be turned to Him instead.

When we are focused on Him, the truly important moments of today will not go unnoticed.
We’ll see the toddler sit by the dog and laugh when the ears move.
We’ll see the child help set the table without being asked.
We’ll listen to the dreams of the teen.
We’ll talk of those we love who are no longer with us with tears and laughter.
We will live.

And the last part of the verse? Oh how dear! Almighty God’s faithful love endures FOREVER. No matter what we’ve done or said, His love remains the same. We can’t make Him love us more.
We can’t make Him love us less.

Let’s focus on God’s goodness today and really see the people in our lives. Let’s stop the rushing and fixing and take some time to bask in His love that endures forever.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.

I’m including a link to the Michael W. Smith song, “His Love Endures Forever.”
It was good to worship to this one this morning: https://youtu.be/JQBwwHvlgSk
