Let’s face it. We ALL have testings and temptations. Some are large, some are small. Some are astronomical and beyond our comprehension.

God seems to think we can endure all those and do so patiently.

Ugh! Faye, I can’t even endure traffic patiently!

I hear you, but God says you CAN patiently endure every test and every temptation. And when you do, you’ll receive blessings here and a special crown in Heaven.

Do you feel a change in focus there? First we move from what you believe you can do to what God knows you can do.

Then we shift from looking at what’s going on around us to seeing the situation for what it is – a test of our resolve to follow Jesus or a temptation to step away from Him.

Once we realize what’s really at play, we can put our foot down and choose God over all.

We who are believers must recognize that what we see is not all there is. We must think in terms of eternity instead of right now or even a lifetime.

When we do, passing these tests and drop-kicking our temptations is as easy/difficult as turning ourselves over to our Creator again.

Let’s give it a try today. When we’re offered the opportunities to explode instead of endure, let’s pass those up and choose Jesus. Let’s see Him and how He handled situations and emulate those. Let’s move so close to Him that our shadows are one.
