Find real safety in the midst of your trouble

When we are being attacked, when we’re being chased by things that mean to destroy us, we need a place of safety. Fear overwhelms and causes such distress!

We want a place where we are safe from every attacker. We want to know they can’t get to us. We need a fortress that can’t be breached. One that can’t be toppled. One that can’t even be entered.

History shows us that castle walls can be scaled and broken. Siege ramps can be built outside them to wreak havoc on those inside. Brick, stone, wood, none of these are able to completely and consistently keep the enemy out.

But God.

The mere name of God is a strong fortress! A STRONG fortress. Not one of stone that can be toppled, of brick that can be broken, or wood that can be burned. Our God is invincible. Unbreakable. He is a completely, consistently strong, unyielding fortress where we are safe from all attackers.

When we believers who are consistently upright and in right standing with God run to Him, He not only envelopes us like the walls and closed doors and gates of ancient times, He sets us up on high so that the battle can no longer reach us.

Anyone else shouting GLORY now?

Friend, whatever is scaring you, whatever is attacking you, whatever is tearing you apart, let go of that battle. Race to the God of all creation and be safe. (No, it’s not a physical running. It’s a turning of your heart from the created to the Creator and calling on His name. It’s trusting Him and instead of focusing on the problems, you turn from them and scamper to the Lord, knowing that He holds you and keeps you.)

Let your heart and mind rest. Trust that whatever is after you can’t reach you there. Remain in Him. Remain safe.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
