What stress and turmoil are you feeling today? Was it a rough start to the day? Nothing worked right, and now you’re feeling like the whole day is shot?

Have you just lost a loved one and you’re not sure how anything can be normal again?

Are you wondering how on earth you’ll be able to make ends meet?

God knew what our lives would be like right now, way back when he first stirred up the dust to make Adam. He knew our hearts would be troubled by the circumstances in which we were living. He knew. He knows.

When Jesus walked the ground of the world He created, He knew. Part of the plan was to give us something we desperately needed for our everyday lives. Salvation surely, but also peace.

Remember, His followers were already beginning to feel the pressure of persecution because of Him, and fear was the natural response. But He said He was leaving peace. Peace that was not mimicked by anything the world could offer. Peace, not the absence of conflict, but the mind-rest within the conflict. Not the absence of fear, but the absence of stress and turmoil within the fear.

God knew we would face things bigger than we could handle and He made a way for us to handle them. That Way is Jesus. Upon our acceptance of His sacrifice on the cross to pay for our sins, the peace that carried Him through that time on earth without quaking in His sandals becomes ours.

Back to the original question. Whatever the answer is, turn to the Savior. Lay that all on Him. Receive the sweet rest of mind and heart that He offers to you, His follower. You may not SEE a change in the circumstances, but you will FEEL something that the world can’t offer even if all those circumstances weren’t there.
