Being God’s righteousness

What an amazing thing! God knew mankind could never meet His standards. Never. We can never be good enough on our own to attain His expectations for righteousness. It is utterly impossible.

HOWEVER (this is the same as “But God…”)

God Himself, Christ, came to Earth and walked around in a human body, feeling all the human feelings, facing all the human temptations, enduring all the human sufferings, yet He never caved in to sin, ever.

And yet, God placed all mankind’s sins on His shoulders and sent Him to feel the beatings we deserved, the taunts and jeers that were ours, the nakedness that was our due, the suffering and death that we should have experienced.

He endured having God’s face turned away from Him – the most painful separation of all.

In that magnificent act of love, God also placed the righteousness of the sinless Christ and placed it on us.

YES! What a trade! What a wonderful, incredible, amazing trade! All that is horrible in mankind placed on Jesus and all that is perfect in Jesus placed on us.

Hard to believe, but it is His plan. It is God’s way to reunite us, His adored creation, with Him. It is His way to bring us of disrepute into right standing with Him. It is this trade that allows us to enter His presence without fear of reprisal.

It is love.

Believer, if you have been walking around calling yourself a horrible sinner, look up. Realize that the condemnation the enemy heaps on you is NOT yours. God intended for you to walk tall with head up, knowing that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. When we choose instead to not receive this blessing, this cloak offered, we are denying ourselves the fullness of His salvation for us.

Let’s choose to lift our heads and look into the face of the Almighty, knowing that HE made the way for us to do so. Let us stand tall in our salvation and tell the enemy to go away because we ARE God’s righteousness through our salvation in Christ. Let’s walk in God’s victory instead of crawling as a victim!
