You need an attitude change.

Have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had? What’s that even mean, and how can I have it, I’m not God!

Apostle Paul wrote these words to the believers at Philippi. He wanted these followers of Jesus to grow into maturity as individuals and as a community.

In the verses prior, we see his instruction to have the same mind and to not seek their own empty glory. There’s not to be factions between groups of believer. Those on 2nd Street aren’t in competition with those on 4th Avenue.

Same thing today. We’re to honor other believers equally. Factions like those of Paul’s time have given us denominations wherein we over here think we’re right while those over there are wrong. And them? They’re just out of it altogether.

Believers in and followers of The Way (Jesus Christ) are to be one community, one loving community. One Church, worldwide.

Jesus is God. He is recognized in the portals of Heaven as The Ruler. The Sovereign. He is in absolute control and worthy of the praise of every creature ever created.

Despite that position, Jesus left it all behind to be born of a woman (one of His creations), to live as a boy and grow into a man, to walk the land of His People touching them, bringing life to dead places, healing to broken, and peace to fearful.

He left grandeur to walk in brokenness.
We won’t support the church family that meets down the street.

 We call that a disconnect.
I think God may call it sin.

So, what do we do to get this attitude that Christ had?

  • We must let go of our arrogance that we’ve got all the right answers and no one else who is a believer does.
  • We must start acting like we who are believers are all one family and support one another.
  • We must have the same mind that says Jesus is Lord and there is no other way to the Father.
  • When that is settled, family exists and Jesus is glorified.

This is important to the heart of our Heavenly Father. It should be important to us.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
