We look around us and find beauty. Whether it’s the vastness of the ocean or the majesty of mountains, we find beauty. Rural countryside or urban architecture, we encounter magnificence that takes our breath.
As lovely as the things we see are, they tend to disappear. The ocean rises and falls, the beaches erode and change. The mountains change, chip away, deforest, or burn. Rural countryside becomes suburban properties and urban architecture is demolished or changed — nothing remains the same.
According to God’s Word, in time, all those things we see will be utterly destroyed.
There is something we can see that will never change and will never be destroyed: God’s words.
See, in God’s words, we meet Him, His character.
And He never changes.
He is the same today as He was when He said “Let there be light,” and He will be the same when He creates the new Heaven and new Earth.
We live in a time when fear mounts daily because things have changed drastically and continue changing at an alarming rate. Life as we knew it 25 years ago is nowhere to be seen, and the life lived by our parents and grandparents is only visited in books and family stories.
God has not changed,
and His words remain
unchanged as well.
That’s something we can count on. When we see politics and culture become something we never imagined, we can lean on the Truth of Jesus and know that He is not changing and His words remain true.
The words of God will never be destroyed,
no matter how much it seems they are in danger.
What comfort to know that regardless what we see happening, our God, the Almighty One, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, never changes and His words are eternal! His words will be true and right forever. We can place our faith in Him and know beyond the merest shadow of doubt that He and His words will never ever change and never ever go away.
