Mountains, hills, valleys… ALL GONE!

Can you imagine? All the mountains and hills flattened? all the valleys filled in? all the earth made a plain?

Now, I’m a mountain girl, and not too sure how I feel about losing that majesty, but I’m looking at what comes next in this scripture.

The glory of Adonai will be revealed and all humans will see it together.

It seems that the leveling of the earth is necessary for this to happen. Then it won’t be a matter of the people on the peaks will get a glimpse first and then those in the valley long after. TOGETHER. We’ll see it together. At the same time. I understand this. Where I live is surrounded by mountains. It gets daylight when the sun comes up, but other people are seeing the sunrise while we don’t see the sun until an hour or more after everyone else.

Time zones won’t matter either. I have friends across the globe and we never see things together. I mean, even New Year’s comes to those in Australia before it gets to us.

Yet on that day, we will ALL see the glory of the Lord TOGETHER. As though we were all standing in one place. We will be in awe of the One who created all the universe and chose to make humans that He knew would choose things other than Him. I’m in awe now, thinking how this will look and feel. For the believer, it will be amazing confirmation of all we’ve believed in.

For those who have chosen to not believe in Jesus as Lord, it will likely be terrifying. To suddenly see that everything those silly Christians said all those years was true? To see that there really IS a God, and it isn’t them? To realize that they have defied the One True and Living God, shaking their fists at Him, declaring Him useless and unreal? Yeah, I think those realizations will breed fear in them.

There is hope, my friends. If you’ve never accepted that Jesus is Lord, that He died in your place in payment for your sins, then rose again on the third day, today is the day and now is the time to make that change. You can’t bridge the gap between you and God on your own. Jesus has already done it, you simply need to agree to go that way. If you need help with this, let’s talk.

Let’s examine ourselves today to be sure we’re ready to see everything on earth made level and to see the glory of Almighty God together with all humankind.
