Believers in Jesus have resurrection life in them.
“Well, that’s nice,” you say. “What’s that really mean?”
All we know of life is what we’ve experienced here on Earth. We don’t know with quantitative certainty what happens when we die. It’s a faith thing.
In faith, we believe that we live forever. All of us. The difference between those who follow Jesus and those who don’t is how life after Earth is lived.
Some of you have had a taste of death while living, through abuse, addiction, and trauma. Life isn’t life at all, and you long for the time when you actually get to live. Some of you blame God for it and never get over that.
God is here on Earth, present in His children — those who have chosen to be adopted into His family through salvation in Jesus. We all experience God here in some way or another.
Death after this life is not only what Jesus described hell as—constant stench-filled flames and overwhelming wailing and teeth-grinding/gnashing. No, it also includes the absolute absence of God—nothing of Him will exist. God is life. Therefore, there is no life for those who choose to ignore Jesus and His free gift of salvation.
Resurrection life is exponentially more life that what we experience on Earth. It is life WITH God. In His presence. Literally hearing His voice without fear. Living in overwhelming love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. Love that is palpable. Tangible. Life that we can feel, touch, and breathe.
We all get to choose life or death right here and now.
If you’re not happy with that choice, you can still change it.
This moment is THE moment. You’re not promised the next. Choose well.
