How to get your guaranteed blessing

God told Abraham that those who blessed him, and the nation that God would bless him with, would be blessed. Conversely, those who cursed that nation would be cursed.

Today is the day for remembrance of the Holocaust, a time when God’s enemy tried to eliminate the Jewish people, Israel. It wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last, but it is an incredible reminder of this truth from Genesis.

According to scripture, we who are believers in Jesus as Messiah are grafted into the Chosen People. We have become part of that nation God promised to Abraham. We are to bless the others of that nation. When we do, we receive blessings untold.

Sadly, we see all too often those who say they are followers of Jesus cursing the People of Israel, those whom the Lord chose among all the nations to be His. I’ve even heard so-called believers say that Jesus wasn’t Jewish.

And then, there are those who claim to be followers of the Savior who bash and badmouth other followers, saying they aren’t really followers, they don’t really believe based on how and when they worship or what Bible they read.

Friend, don’t let this be you. Don’t speak against God’s chosen. Don’t call a curse from the Almighty into your life! Bless the Lord, bless His people – even those you don’t agree with. Bless them because they are His.

Unity in the Lord is a beautiful tapestry of varied colors and weaves, all of whom glorify the King. Today, let us be one who builds that unity rather than tearing it apart.
