Ever wondered what a prayer of praise looks like? Here you go:
“Where is another God like you, who pardons the
Micah 7:18
guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his
special people? You will not stay angry with your
people forever, because you delight in showing
unfailing love.”
Micah was celebrating the powerful and merciful love of God demonstrated through His forgetful forgiveness of His people. We can, and probably should, join him in that celebratory praise.
God is perfect perfection. He is always exponentially holy. We might have moments of holiness, but not Him. He is always and forever completely and utterly holy.
The choices we make that exclude Him are an affront to Him, an offense, and a sin.
The penalty for those choices is death. Yet, God delights in showing mercy and unfailing love to His people. Us. HE DELIGHTS IN THIS. He is not only happy to do so, He is willing to do so. He takes great pleasure in proving His unending, unfailing, unconditional love for us.
The answer to Micah’s question is, “There is no other God like YHWH.”
Praise Him, my friend. Revel in His greatness. Exist in His mercy and grace. Snuggle deeply into His unfailing love. Trust Him with all of you and all that’s yours. He is worthy.
