Fear is a LIAR, tell it off!

Fear is such a huge part of our lives, isn’t it? Be honest. It’s there. Even if it’s not in your face, it’s lurking nearby. It’s ugly. It pounces when you least expect and it digs its claws in deep, making it almost impossible to get free of them.

BUT GOD.

In some places, people need a healthy fear of the creatures who see them as prey so that they don’t put themselves in the position of being prey. That’s more of taking action based on realization of truth.

I think this fear God was talking to Israel through Isaiah about was the paralyzing fear that keeps us from doing what He designed us to do.

We all have a God-designed purpose. He chose us for that unique purpose for His work, His kingdom, His glory.

Fear tells us that we’ll fail. We won’t please God. We’ll be punished. We’ll fall on our faces. We’ll be embarrassed. We’ll get hurt. We’ll _____________. (Fill in the blank to cover all the things fear has told you before.)

Here’s the truth: Fear is a LIAR. Fear is a spirit from the evil one, meant to stop our mission and destroy us. God gives us power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

God doesn’t just say not to fear, He offers reasons:
He is WITH you.
He is YOUR God.
He STRENGTHENS you.
He HELPS you.
He even HOLDS you SAFE from the fray in His VICTORIOUS right hand.

When we couple the truth of Deuteronomy 6:5 (https://bit.ly/39T6PyJ ) with these words, we can look fear in the face and tell it off.

We can look at fear and say, “Almighty God is MY GOD and He is WITH me. HE strengthens me – I’m not unafraid in my own strength but in His! HE helps me – I can’t battle you on my own, but God can. HE is holding me SAFE from you in His VICTORIOUS right hand – you cannot defeat my God, and you can’t have me!”

What lies is fear telling you today, Believer? Today is your day. It’s the day you stop believing the lies and start believing the TRUTH about the One who holds You in His righteous hand of complete victory.
