When was the last time you told someone that God’s deeds are perfect, that everything He does is just and fair? Do you really believe that He is a faithful God who does no wrong?

There are those who say they are followers of Jesus who do not believe those truths. They think that God has made errors and that the chaos we see in the world is part of those errors.

My question is, why would you want to worship a god who was wrong? Even if it was a small percentage of the time, wrong is wrong. That means that god would have error of judgment or improper responses to situations. How would you know that that god’s choice of you was right? How would you know that the blessings given you wouldn’t be taken away just because of a fickleness that was completely arbitrary?

What a frightening way to live!

I join Moses in believing Elohim, Adonai, Jehovah, El Shaddai. Almighty, unchanging, perfect God. Maker of the universe. Sustainer of life. Provider. All He does is perfect. Who He is, is perfect. Everything He does is just and fair.

See, I think we get messed up with that “just and fair” part, because we don’t measure “just and fair” the same way God does. His “just” is perfect and unswayed by emotion. The black-and-white judgment that we use is nothing compared to the plumb line with which He works. His judgments are fair and always based on what He has said in His Word.

We get off-track with the understanding that His deeds are perfect, too. When we look at situations, we do so though the lens of sinful mankind. We see one, maybe two sides to the situation, and always only in the present. We might be able to conceive of some of the consequences of those choices, but we are limited by our humanity in ways that God is not. He stands in the past, present, and future all the time. What is coming in the future is already present to Him. He knows exactly what will happen if that choice is made now, and while He directs us toward the correct choice, we often choose the one that feels best and ignore His direction.

Then, when we are dealing with the consequences we didn’t consider, we are angry with God for being imperfect, when in fact, it was our imperfection that invited that situation.

It’s all so hard to understand! I get that. What I do know is that God really is our Rock. He is steady and strong all the time. He is perfect. Everything He does is just and fair. He is faithful. He does no wrong. He is upright. Always.

Believer, if you don’t believe these truths about God, I hope you will examine your faith under the light of His Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth about the basis and strength of your faith.

I hope you meet this God who is all these things and loves you enough to die for you.

And if you do believe these things, how about telling others? Declare it. Draw the line in the sand stating this is the truth you will stand on. Let others know what you believe and who you believe it about. Shall we start today?
