You’ll never be perfect

Dear Believer who struggles with being perfect. Today’s word is for you.

R E L A X.

You can let go. You can stop striving — at least in your own power. No more trying to look perfect, say the perfect things, do the perfect things, be the perfect one. Just stop. You’ll never do it in your own power.

You’ll never memorize all the scripture. You’ll never be holy. You’ll never be a fully devoted follower of Jesus. You’ll never attain that perfection outside God’s working in you.

To employ His work in you, you simply have to let go. Let go. Stop trying to grab the reins and take over. It will happen as you seek Him with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.

See, God has a fabulous plan for your life. Thing is, as long as you are running the show, you won’t know what that is and you won’t be living in it. Let go! Please, let go!

This world needs you being the you that God died for you to be. We do! His plans are perfect, even when we don’t understand them — even when we aren’t perfect. Let go! Relax. Lean into Him. Seek Him. Rest in Him. Relax.

Let God have control. Give Him the full reign of you — and don’t take it back. As you do this day after day, you’ll find yourself changing. You’ll see a new you as you’re changed by the Master into the person He planned, doing the work He planned for you. You may find yourself answering questions differently. You may find yourself running to a problem instead of away from it. You may hear yourself speaking differently. You may lose some parts of you that you’ve been comfortable with. Just let go. Relax.

Be prepared for this to take a while. God works on a different timetable than we do. We’ve got all the time in the world … until Christ Jesus returns. THAT is the day we reach the perfection we long for.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
