Whatever.

Whatever you do or say…

  • Drive the car
  • Speak to your children
  • Wash the dishes
  • Talk to your spouse
  • Change the diaper
  • Meet with the boss
  • Do the laundry
  • Call support
  • Pay the bills
  • Share with a friend
  • Visit the doctor
  • Sit in traffic
  • Vacation
  • …whatever (in the original language that means: WHATEVER)

As a believer, everything you say or do is as a representative of the Lord Jesus. All your words, all your actions represent Him to others.

When our words are kind, filled with truth and grace, we reveal Him as the loving God and Savior that He is. When we are angry, grumbling, and unloving, we represent Him as someone else.

Too often we believers behave differently on the church property than anywhere else, with words dripping with love and oozing with grace when just moments before we were speaking anything but life to our family at home and in the car.

Whatever we do. Every deed. Every gesture. Every action. All represent Jesus. Time to examine how we’re doing in our representation of Him.

Your primary ministry field is in the home, your family. What do they hear you say? What do they see you do? What Jesus do they learn? Where will they turn when life happens to them? How will they have learned to react?

The only way we’re going to be an excellent, full-time representative of Jesus is to give up control to Him. We can’t tame our tongue and we don’t always react well under pressure. However, when we allow the Spirit of God to control our every thought, action, and deed, our representation of Jesus is closer to the Truth and we are lifting Him up. When we do this, He brings people to Himself and His kingdom grows.

Bottom line:
Ask yourself, “Are my words and behavior causing people to want to COME to the Kingdom of God or STAY AWAY from it?”

If the answer isn’t COME, it’s time to make the changes to become the representative He died for you to be.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
