What has God done for you lately?

What has God done for you lately?

Did you just read those words? He gave you sight. Woohoo!
Did you just take a breath? He gave you life. Woohoo!
Are you reading this inside a home or business? He gave you shelter. Woohoo!
Are you reading this at work? He gave you a job. Woohoo!
Do you have on shoes and or socks? He has provided for you. Woohoo!

Sometimes we get all wrapped up in what we don’t have and forget all we do. We think catching that last breath was a small thing, but it is life itself, not something to be scoffed at as unworthy of consideration.

The psalmist says to give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. When is the last time you thought about what you have and thanked God for it? Breath? Abilities? Home, regardless how grand or how humble? Job, whether you like it or not? Socks? Flip flops? Coat? Car? Salvation? Friends? Parents? Children? The list is long. And the more you think about it, the longer it gets.

The amazing thing is, when we start thanking God for all He has done and provided in our lives, the more content we become. We lose focus on what we don’t have because we become overwhelmed at what we do have.

As we express our great gratitude to Almighty God, we proclaim how amazing and fierce and strong and kind and compassionate and brilliant and wonderful He is.

We need to do this aloud, y’all. Whether speaking in alone moments or telling others. The realm of the enemy cannot read our thoughts. They must depend on our words and actions. When we proclaim the Lord’s greatness, we are drawing a line in the sand letting the ancient enemy know we are trusting God alone.

I loved this picture when I saw it. It made me smile. I can just imagine sitting there on that stoop with my friend, talking about the day and together acknowledging all God has done for us that day. What joy would surround!

Let’s give it a try today. Let’s acknowledge the Lord and thank Him. Let’s sing to him from grateful heart and humble lips.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
