Awe! …me?

I have seen so many sunrise and sunset photos here lately, many photos of moon and stars – and great anticipation of the “Bethlehem Star” on the 21st.

We look at them in awe. We see beauty that takes our breath away. We understand the science, but the beauty – it’s so dynamic!

When we look at those skies and see the magnificence, and recognize their Creator, and quite often just move on. What if, instead of moving on we asked the question the psalmist did?

What are mere mortals that God would think about them? What are human beings that God would care for them?

As in, when we look at the heavens and see the breadth, knowing the things we see are so much larger than they appear and that they are so much farther away than we can comprehend, we are in awe of the One who spoke them into existence. And we can take that awe one step further to, “Who am I, O God, that You would even think about making me, much less loving me?”

Oh, y’all! That brings tears to my eyes! Our God – mighty, powerful, all-knowing God spoke all into existence, then determined us.

He created you and developed you into the person you are in order to accomplish the plan He made long ago. He loves you enough to die for you.

Today’s challenge:
Speak the words of this verse aloud as a prayer, then just be quiet before Him and let Him fill your heart with the Truth you need. Let Him tell you what to do with that, then do it.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
