God is HEALER

I’d venture to say that more people call on this attribute of God than any other. We have all experienced some sort of sickness or pain in our lives or the lives of people we love. We seek healing from God, including many of those who say they don’t believe in Him.

There is a problem with seeking God only as Healer: sometimes, He doesn’t heal the one we’re praying for. Then we get mad and we declare that He isn’t really healer or that He isn’t good.

We forget that all things are done according to His will. But scripture says we can pray and get what we want, and I want healing for my person!

Scripture says we can pray according to His will and receive. What we have to understand is that healing may not be on this side of heaven. It may be the perfect healing that we receive in heaven. He heals, but it’s not the way we want it, so we declare Him to not be the Healer.

Oh, that we would understand that He has already provided healing for our worst sickness: SIN.

But we prefer to not think of that as a sickness. We don’t think that’s something we need healing from. We need healing from cancer or ALS or viruses or common colds; we can make a choice about sin.

Except we can’t. Even if we stopped sinning completely, we would still be marked by the sickness it wrought in us and our hearts and souls need God’s touch to make us whole again. That is healing that we can’t fathom, because we don’t grasp the depths of that disease.

Because God is Healer, we can rest easy, knowing that He will see to our deepest physical, emotional, and most important of all, spiritual health. He rescues us from death and brings us to life — sometimes here on earth, sometimes in heaven.

Our God is HEALER.
