God always has, always will.

Are you feeling unloved, unwanted, left out, alone, lonely, distressed, depressed? I have a word for all of us today.

God spoke these words through Jeremiah the Prophet, in a time when He was punishing Israel for their poorest of choices – self and idols over Him. Their punishment was severe, the loss of everything dear. Their homeland conquered, their homes lost, some taken to new pagan lands, some left behind. Heartbreaking. How could God do this? Had He stopped loving them?

No. No, he had not stopped loving them. Matter of fact, He loved them all the more. He loved them too much to let them continue down their chosen path of destruction. He loved them enough to send them into exile where they would recognize their need for Him.

Then He made this promise to them, “Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”

In effect, God was telling His people, displaced and dismayed, that He had always loved them and always would. That doesn’t mean it always FELT like love.

I challenge you, Believer, to accept this truth today: God loves you. Period. Whether it feels like it or not. God always seeks your good – your true good – not just what you think would be good. God never leaves you, never abandons you. Even if it feels like it.

Let’s tear off the blinders and shrug off the deceitful feelings and walk in the light of His love. Let’s move toward the Almighty who is drawing us to Himself.

Oh, keep moving toward Him. Now, get a little closer. More. A little more.

Embrace the Truth today, my friend. He loves you dearly.
