People are watching you!

What does “whatever” mean?
Like, does it really mean “anything” and “everything”? So, like, every action, reaction, word, and thought?

Pretty much.

When we walk around as believers, we need to be cognizant that others are watching. Not like some reality TV show, but watching to see how we behave – not just unbelievers, but other believers, too. Everything we do and say is under scrutiny by someone. Some are looking to cheer us on, others are waiting to see us fall.

For me, there is absolutely no way I can be this person. I am not a good representative of the Lord Jesus unless I let Him live through me.

See, this isn’t some cloak we can put on when we get up from bed each day. This isn’t some list of things we can tick off as we live. This is a heart issue. This is walking so close to the Savior that His shadow covers us. It’s more than checking in with Him on Sundays. It’s an every moment of every day connection, and when we maintain that connection, we become an excellent living, breathing representation of Jesus no matter where we are – in our homes around our family, at our churches, at our workplaces, in stores, in traffic, and even on social media.

Our parents, siblings, spouses, and children should see us as a representative of Christ. Our coworkers should have no question who we represent. Those in the stores and other places we visit should be able to tell who we’re there in the name of. In traffic, our behavior should make it evident that we represent the King of kings and Lord of lords. Every post and comment on social media reflects on the One we represent making it clear who we work for.
Does yours?

No, no, no. Don’t start stressing over this! This isn’t one more task added to your overburdened list! This is a call to action and the action is to get closer to the Lord. No more hat tips to the King as you go about your business. No more saying, “well, that’s just how I am.” No more acting from a place of God-emptiness. We all have 24 hours in each day and we choose what to do with them. Let’s choose to spend a portion of those hours connecting with the Savior we represent to the world around us.

Coffee, Bible, Journal.
